Eco-Car
With every leap in gas prices, the interest in more ecologically sound automotive choices becomes stronger. If it takes an empty wallet to drive the public -- and the manufacturers -- to do the right thing, then so be it.
And right now, at this specific technological time, hybrid cars are the right thing. Oh electric and fuel cells will soon take the place of the hybrid, without a doubt. But define "soon."
I personally don't want to keep driving that gas-guzzler while waiting for the scientists, and manufacturers, and politicians to come up with a "righter" version.
The hybrid is far from a perfect solution. But it's closer than the standard combusion engine. And that is indeed the right choice for the next few years.
So hybrids it is. Let's look at some of the technology and the car models involved in this monumental change in the way we move ourselves around.
